Community Navigator Program (CNP)

Do you need assistance understanding and navigating the regional center or generic community services? Our program serves all ages. Through our Community Navigator Program (CNP) you will be connected with a Community Navigator who has personal experience and who has been trained to provide the support you need.

Once connected with a Community Navigator, you will work together to establish goals that correspond with your needs or your family’s needs. Your Community Navigator can help you achieve goals to get or navigate services and therapies to connect with resources and navigate special education. Navigators can help you support and gain a better understanding about your own disability or a child’s disability in your life.  Navigators are friendly, flexible, and focused on supporting you and your family with a low-pressure collaborative approach.

Developmental Screening Program

At the Eastern Los Angeles Family Resource Center you have the ability to complete an ASQ-3 which is a developmental screening tool to determine if children ages 1 month-5 years old are learning basic skills when they should. If you have any concerns about a child`s development, please contact us so that we can further assist you.

If you are an early identification and intervention professional, screenings connect children at risk of developmental delay with further evaluation to determine eligibility for services.

The ASQ-3 looks at five domains (skill areas): Communication, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Problem Solving, and Personal-Social.

Responses to the questions on the ASQ-3 can help show a child`s strengths and any area in which the child may need additional support or practice.

If the scores indicate areas of concern, we will discuss with parents and assist with linkage.
